57 ft Dutch Tjalk “ORCA“
Orca is a lovely, comfortable cruising houseboat lying at Cambridge. Here is an opportunity to have an unusual but comfortable residence in the city or you could just go off cruising. Orca is fully equipped for this and has a boat Safety certificate to cruise the English wide beam waterways and she is capable of navigating all the rivers and canals that have bridges over 2.5m in height.
This is a very good conversion with a large open plan cabin that is light and airy with large windows. The wheelhoue opens onto a small after deck that is ideal for dining in the sunshine. There is also another seating area forward and lots of space on the wooden clad cabin top for sunbathing.
Electrically, this barge is fully self contained with no need to connect up to the shore power, with a bank of 3 solar panels on the wheelhouse that charge the batteries and then will provide 240 volts through the invertor. There is plenty of power Summer or winter on this barge as she also has a small generator on the fore deck that will also keep the lights burning.
